Aquaria @ KLCC

One of the best thing bout still studying is the holidays and the ‘free-ness’. While some of my friends started work yesterday, I on the other hand was wondering where should I go to spend my day. Now, how many people have the luxury to do that? Haha

Been planning to visit Aquaria ever since it opened but hesitated for quite some time until I had some feedback from friends. So decided to visit it yesterday with my girlfriend: it was something like a replacement Valentine’s Day ( I had my dynamics exam on Valentine’s Day ). Traffic was smooth compared to the usual working days, but still it took us bout 45 mins from Subang to the KLCC convention centre parking. Continue reading ‘Aquaria @ KLCC’

Chinese New Year

It seriously has been awhile since any of us wrote anything. The blog seemed closed but rest assured, it’s not. It’s just temporarily inactive, that’s all.

Before Chinese New Year, I was thinking bout the significance of the event. It was only until today that I can fully appreciate Chinese New Year. When I was young, it was only for the ang pows (red packets with money inside, symbolises good luck or something like that). The cash was ‘alot’ back then. And as I grow older, the money seemed insignificant and because I was still in secondary school that time, so I get to see some of my relatives quite often and chinese new year seemed like just another holiday to me. Finally when I turned 21, I thought to myself: what’s the event for? What a waste of time. Mainly because there’s a few relative of mine that I’m not too fond of meeting. Not even once a year.

So despite what I feel, the first day of new year came anyway. I got up and started thinking bout what to talk to those ppl that I’m not too fond of. It’s really funny, I don’t like them and they know it and vice versa but still we have to go thru the usual protocol of ‘catching up’. Nasty people aside, I’m really glad that we have an event which will bring all of us together in one place, even if it’s only for one or two days. The same goes for friends. Although, it’s always the usual gang, with a few exceptions.

And besides, how often will ALL of us agree on expensive meals? Haha

Korean food, not what we had in mind exactly but because of the limited budget and also people, having Chinese food would be take a heavy toll on our wallets and also it’s not so enjoyable.

Yesterday begun with me, Zac and Ps visiting around and picking up people on the way, it didn’t go too smoothly though.. we planned for like 11 houses but only managed to visit 4. What’s chinese new year without gambling? So that’s exactly what we did after all the visiting, too bad for Zac and HL right? haha. Soon, it was dinner, and we settled for Korean BBQ, from the recommendations and also it’s location. The food was great and the service was superb (it better be, service tax was bout 30 bucks). All and all no complains and highly recommend the place. Daewoo Korean BBQ or something: it’s situated in TaiPan’s Business Centre, opposite Mcds, can’t miss it.

Here are some pictures:

MLM

It’s ironic, being someone who’s skeptical bout the idea of multi-level marketing (aka network marketing), I’m currently in one right now. Well, don’t go; aw.. that’s sad.. yet. Because after being in it for bout 3 weeks now, I actually enjoy the process of explaining the product to people, regardless of whether they are interested or not.

First of all, I personally don’t think that MLM can actually give you financial freedom FOREVER, for a short time interval; yea it will (probably 6-18 months) depending on how hot the company is. But once the market is saturated or so to say, then it will stop there. Which is one of the reason I joined this company I’m in right now, it may not be hot yet now, but it’s new. One doesn’t have to be a genius to know that; usually those around the top of the pyramid rule (analogous to animal food chain). Anyway, I linked the website of the company in the BLOGROLL section below (www.edymium.com) ; do check it out if you are interested. Before I start to sound like I’m promoting here, I’ll divert the topic to something else; other authors might not like it if I promote stuff here (might do it in my own blog tho.. )

So anyway, instead of focusing on how skeptical I was about the idea or how unlikely I thought the idea would work, I just went ahead and did it. Going around explaining things to people, trying to make them join and stuff. Most of the people I approached are very skeptical, I don’t blame them. Managed to find a few interested ones too.

It was this program I saw on Astro that changed my perception on this issue, at least a little bit. Well, it was this talk show; an interview with Donald Trump ( one of the world’s richest guy );

some dude asked him this question : If you go bankcrupt one day, what would you do to try to get back up?

Trump :  I would look for the most popular MLM company around town and get into it asap.

And instantly, the crowd booed him. And he said “That’s the reason why I am up here and you are down there. “

I’m not saying that MLM works just cause Trump said it, I’m saying that it really doesn’t matter what you think bout something that matters, it’s whether it works or not that matters.

Especially us, the younger generations, we should be more open to new ideas. Instead of being pessimistic bout things, we should learn how to exploit every new ideas that’s out there in the market. Just my 2-cents, of course.

Anyway, been busy with university and also this MLM. So post frequency has dropped. Will try to write whenever I can. Enjoy reading and check back for more posts.

Torment at Lowyat

That was this day where mk (main author) accompanied me to lowyat. I’m going to give plenty of credits to him on that day, it is because we did went through some sort of ‘test of endurance’ and ‘hardship’ due to unexpected circumstances which I really don’t believe it could happened in lowyat.

Err…the story goes like this…my main purpose is to purchase a laptop, and screw the boring parts, what happened is when I bought a laptop, the person at the service counter requested me to install windows on my own, and I refused because I’m not familiar with computer stuffs and it has to be installed from hard disk, not by cds (the common way). First of all, he tried push me to do it on my own by saying ‘it’s VERY easy, what you need to do is follow the steps I have told you’. He said it out with the professionalism he has I think.

But still, I strongly refused again because it’s troublesome, so we left the laptop to him where it’s supposed to be done in one and a half hours. We hang around there 30 minutes and stopped by at the service counter wanting to rest. The person saw us and laughed by saying this ‘I’m installing windows, it won’t be done in such a short time, why don’t both of you go hang around somewhere’. He voiced it out with the hints where we are a super dumb in general computer know ledges. But it doesn’t matter, and then mk took me the restaurant he recommended to kill time. When we got back to the service counter at time, he said we still have wait for 30 minutes more for the partition allocation in hard disk.

Okay, so we waited and got back there in time AGAIN, Hell Yell, surprisingly he encountered a problem where the laptop could not enter windows. So he asked me to wait another one and half hours for re-installation. Damn! We were so shocked because he claimed that it was VERY easy before that, but then he couldn’t get it done with the professionalism he has. I mean if it was so easy, why you didn’t prove it that it was EASY, actions speak louder than words right.

Words really can’t explain what we felt for the moment of waiting, now this is the ‘test of endurance’ I was trying to say, I was lucky to have mk to kill time with me, if not it would be a boring sh*t of waiting. Haha, now this is a joke, after that one and a half hour, we still have to wait for another hour for everything to get done! Sigh, bunch of foul languages is running on my mind at the moment, it was like torment of mind. Actually this happened because there were 2 persons handling the laptop during installation where it supposed to be 1, another 1 (the person with professionalism) took over with a good intention so that he could get it done faster. So I don’t blame him that much, it’s just that I couldn’t stand it by the fact I have to wait 5 hours to purchase a laptop, in addition, workers in lowyat are supposed to be, professional I say?

Hmm… about the ‘hardship’ part of story…it’s like this, we bought same stuffs like speaker, voltage regulators, etc…where mk considered well to be carried by both of us without problems, but then we didn’t expect there was a hamper along with it, and it’s size is the size of a CPU casing! Cry out loud man, we carried those stuffs from lowyat to the Monorail station, then KTM station and followed up with walking distance to Bus station. Wow that ‘long journey’ was full with ‘hardship’ because our arms got cramped and muscle pain by it. In the end, we were still discussing about the torment we had for next few days.

Haha, what a joke…
