On Playing Pool

I found out the other day that pool wasnt my forte after all. I meant I couldnt hit the damn ball without Wai Ho grinning away and Kenny slapping his forehead in exasperation. Sigh………….

Aw, c’mon maybe the game isnt for me. I can never understand (or have the patience) to actually calculate the angles of every ball I’m supposed to hit in. So what do I do? Just hit it!

I think it has something to do with my confidence though. I cant seem to stand people looking at me trying to learn something new. Okay, maybe not new per se, but its still something I’m not entirely good at, and what with a few people watching my “technique”, let’s just say it gives me the chills. Its like, hit the damn ball and get it over with!

But talking about balls, it does take alot of it (balls) to put my weakness here. Maybe I’m tring to fulfill my quota. Then again, this could help. Anybody would care to teach me instead?

New Found Hobby

Recently, I have re-discovered one of my old family instilled hobbies: fishes and aquarium. Brought up in a house with 5 aquariums left quite an impression on me. My late grandpa was a fish lover and made us help him with cleaning the tank and maintenance. It’s quite rare for guys especially my age to take up this hobby.

My cousin and I had a “brainstorming” session to decide how to best decorate his tank, something was wrong. Fishes keep dying and the tank is starting to look boring. It’s a 5ft x 2ft x 3ft tank and uses an overflow filtration system. And here are the end results:

The cost :

RM 43 x 2 = RM 86.00 for the backing

RM 40 x 2 = RM 80.00 for the light coloured sand

RM 20 for the dark coloured pebbles

RM 10 for the red coloured sand

RM 43 for the fertilizer

RM 7 for the round air diffuser

RM 28 for the UV light

RM 35 for the Black water

RM 28 for the Tiger Barbs

RM 20 for the new piping

So, all in all we spent bout RM 350 to redo everything. Looks awesome now. Not bad for my first custom aquarium, huh. Interesting hobby, I gotta say. Till next time.
