As the blog title suggests, we’re a bunch of uni students who has got a little bit of extra time on our hand to write our sentiments on blog and we’ve decided to share a same blog for none of us are really bloggers who posts almost everyday. However, there will be constant new posts by the authors from time to time so do check back for new posts. Have fun reading.
Excerpt from the post ‘New Author’ about the meaning of the blog title :
“And I will explain the title of the blog ‘Licensed Slackers’, I’m sure ppl have been wondering what’s the significance of this name. To make things simple, its something I thought about with during my first year in uni. I noticed that the daily routine of a normal student would be sleep, eat, play, sleep, eat, play occasionally study when the need arises (exams, quizzes, etc, etc). So most of the time, eat sleep, eat sleep. See the pattern? And the best thing is we don’t get blamed or accused as being society’s rubbish for doing that! In fact our parents and society are actually proud of us and having high hopes in us. Therefore, we are actually ‘licensed’ to slack. Currently, exploring around for good food, nice vacation spots and entertainment.
BUT, don’t get me wrong. We’re not just slacking, while doing that we’re also equiping ourselves with skills to contribute to our society. We will contribute to society once we graduate. For now, we will just enjoy our slacking. “
Recently, there’s a spam comment by one of our authors brother: “stupid brother”. I would like to give my two-cents worth of opinion here. First of all, our blog is something for us to write out our opinion and views on life. Ain’t nothing embarassing bout it. We’re different as we have a number of authors and I guess the reason why people give comments like this is that they cannot accept new ideas and they always have to follow examples before doing something. If someone have not done it, it is not possible and cannot be done. So, to whoever who gave this comment, try to look at this in a positive way, instead of being so negative. If blogging is such a bad thing, why are there thousands of ppl doing it. It acts as a diary, a notepad to jot down fleeting ideas, a place to express our displease, etc, etc. Dare to be different. More benefits than harm. =)
Not bad… Not bad.
